Punjab First COVID-19 patient recovers, tested negative, says CM Captain Amrinder Singh

Punjab: The first Coronavirus patient of Punjab, who had traveled to Italy, has recovered from the virus, Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh reportedly said.

The patient was undergoing treatment in Government Medical College College, Amritsar. The patient has been tested negative of the Coronavirus and will be discharged from the hospital on Friday.

Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh tweeted, “Happy to share that our first case of COVID admitted to Government Medical College Amritsar has successfully recovered and tested negative.” Further, he added, “The patient will be discharged today. It’s a great moment for us. I am sure we will win this War Against Covid19.”

On March 4, the man along with his two family members returned to Amritsar from Milan via Delhi. The media reports say that the patient hails from Hoshiarpur. His son was also admitted to Government Medical College, Amritsar.

This patient was undergoing treatment in Government Medical College College, Amritsar. And reports say that the patient has been tested negative of the Coronavirus and will be discharged from the hospital on Friday.

Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh also expressed his feelings on this report and tweeted, “Happy to share that our first case of COVID admitted to Government Medical College Amritsar has successfully recovered and tested negative.”

A total of 33 people in Punjab have been tested positive of Coronavirus till Thursday.

Last week, one death was reported from Punjab. Baldev Singh, 70, had a travel history to Germany via Italy and he died last week.

A total of 23 people who came in contact with Baldev Singh were tested positive. Out of these 23, 14 belonged to his family.
