Chennai: Policeman wears "Coronavirus helmet" to spread awareness amongst public

Chennai: In order to aware people of how deadly Coronavirus can be, a policeman wears Coronavirus helmet in Chennai on duty.

The artist Gowtham, who made the Coronavirus look-alike helmet, reportedly told ANI, “The public at large is not treating Covid-19 situation seriously. The police personnel, on the other hand, are working round the clock to ensure people stay at home and do not venture out to stop further transmission of the disease.”

Further, he said, ” I came up with this idea and used a broken helmet with some papers to prepare this “Coronavirus helmet”. I also made several placards displaying slogans and gave it to the police department.

“The police personnel also said that the helmet was very helpful in making the people aware of Coronavirus.

Inspector Rajesh Babu, who wore the helmet, reportedly said that the approach had a positive response.

He reportedly told ANI, “We take all the steps but people still come out on streets. Therefore, this Corona helmet is one of the steps we are taking to ensure that people are aware of the seriousness of the police. The helmet is an attempt to do something different. When I wear this helmet, the thought of Coronavirus comes into the minds of commuters. Especially, the children react strongly after seeing this.”
