Kerala elderly couple recovers from Coronavirus

An elderly couple, aged 93 and 88 who were tested positive for Coronavirus in Kerala, has successfully recovered, Kerala Health Minister KK Shailja reportedly informed media.

According to the media reports, the couple got infected by their children and grandson who had returned from Italy. However, all the family members have now recovered from Coronavirus successfully.

A press release from State Health Ministry’s office said, “The couple was literally brought back to life from death.” The couple was suffering from diabetes, hypertension and other elderly age-related issues.

The officials reportedly informed that the 93-year-old man had developed a severe cough, urinary infection and chest pain and was diagnosed as vulnerable to heart issues. He was put on a ventilator also. His wife also developed a severe bacterial and urinary infection which worsened her condition.

The health minister had given clear instructions to do everything to save the couple’s life. Now the couple is admitted to Kottayam Medical College. The officials say that the couple grew restless when both were shifted to different VIP ICUs.

Then later they were shifted to ICU from where they can see each other. They also refused to have food but the hospital staff handled them with compassion and care.

Now State Health Ministry’s office said, “The couple was literally brought back to life from death.”

But Sadly, one of the nurses looking after them was tested positive of the Coronavirus and is now hospitalized.

The recent reports suggest that there are 202 positive Coronavirus cases in Kerala. Kerala witnesses one Coronavirus death while 19 people have successfully recovered.

In India, the number of COVID-19 positive cases has reached 1250 and 32 deaths have been reported.
