Noida, India: In an enthusiastic display of fitness and environment awareness, Cyclothon 2024 took place in Greater Noida West on Sunday. This Cyclothon 2024 event attracted a large number of participants who spread the message of staying fit and keeping the environment clean by cycling on the roads.
All riders started from Gaur Chowk towards Noida-Greater Noida link road according to their route plans.
Cyclothon 2024 saw the active participation of HCL Tech chairperson Roshni Nadar Malhotra, who joined hundreds of cyclists in the initiative. Roshini Nadar Malhotra along with Shikhar Malhotra, Director, CEO and Vice President, HCL Corporation and Anil Yadav, DCP Traffic, formally inaugurated the ride by waving the flag, setting the tone for the event.
Even police advised the route diversion a day earlier, its cause some inconvenience during the event due to route diversion. But the participants remained steadfast in their commitment to the good cause.
Also, speaking about the significance of the event, HCL Tech Chairperson Roshni Nadar Malhotra informed that the cyclothon was organised in collaboration with the Government of Uttar Pradesh and under the aegis of Cycling Federation of India. It was considered as one of the biggest cycling events in the country, with a substantial prize money of Rs 33.6 lakh on offer. Around 2000 participants cycled various distances including 55 km, 27 km and 10 km to collectively highlight the importance of environment safety and health.
Cyclothon event witnessed the participation of approximately 2500 persons including more than fifty police personnel and National Cadet Corps (NCC) members, further adding to its impact.
Manoj Gaur, CMD, Gaur Group, expressed his enthusiasm to promote Greater Noida through cycling, and underlined the potential of such events to showcase the vibrancy of the city and its commitment to healthy living.
Cyclothon 2024 Rally served as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility towards promoting a clean environment and healthy lifestyle choices. As cycling continues to gain momentum as a sustainable mode of transportation and fitness activity, events like this play a vital role in promoting awareness and action towards a greener future.
