Varun Dhawan to play war hero in Sriram Raghavan directed Ekkis

After creating splendid films like Badlapur, Andhadhun, and Agent Vinod, director Sriram Raghavan will be directing “Varun Dhawan” for his upcoming film titled Ekkis. This actor-director duo is going to come back on screen after their 2015 hit film Badlapur.

The timeline of the Ekkis is set in the 1970s and the story is of two eras. The story of the film Ekkis is going to showcase the life of Arun Khetarpal. He is the youngest Param Vir Chakar receiver. It is going to present the relationship of a father-son duo which will open up layers of emotions.

The biographical war drama is going to be produced by Dinesh Vijan quoted in an interview that the director is going the extra mile in order to frame the film. He also mentioned that the director has transformed his office into a war zone theme interiors.

However, Vijan mentioned that he personally has never seen such dedication in anyone for just a film. Varun Dhawan seems to be quite excited about this one as he is going to step into the shoes of a war hero this time. Both, Varuna Dhawan and Sriram Raghavan are going to test their artistic pursuit with a completely differing genre this time.

Sriram Raghavan directed film Andhadhun is basking in the glory as the film received three National awards. Not only this, but the dark comedy thriller has been adapted in Tamil. Earlier, speculations were traveling that Sif Ali Khan will be the leading hero of the film. But Raghavan rejected the claims in an interview.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Varun Dhawan is shooting for Coolie No 1. His recent release Street Dancer 3D, however, was not able to attract as much audience. But the audience will see a new avatar of the actor in the film.
