The re-telecasting of Ramayan has again created history as the show has garnered the highest ever rating for a GEC programme since 2015 according to the BARC India calculations.
On Thursday, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting informed about it in an official statement. The CEO of Prasar Bharti, Shashi Shekhar also informed about the same on Twitter.
His tweet read, Thrilled to share that the re-telecast of Ramayan on @ddnational has garnered the highest ever rating for a Hindi GEC show since 2015 (source: @BarcIndia)
Have a look at his Tweet:
Ramanand Sagar’s RAMAYAN is telecasted on DD National twice a day at 9 am and 9 pm. Other than this, the iconic shows like Mahabharata, Shaktimann, Circus, Chanakya, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Byomkesh Bakshi has also hit the TV screen during this lockdown period pf 21 days.
The re-telecast of these decades-old shows is an attempt by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to keep the public inside their houses during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, on April 3, PM Modi addressed the nation through a video message and appealed to the public to switch off the lights of their houses on 5th April at 9 PM for nine minutes and light diyas and turn on mobile flashlights to show solidarity with each other.
