Home delivery of restaurants in Ludhiana is allowed from 7 am to 7 pm with strict guidelines
The District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Aggarwal Ludhiana on 8th May, ordered the opening of all restaurants, eateries, halwai’s, ice cream shops and juice shops. But for only home delivery from 7 am to 7 pm only.
“Home delivery of restaurants in Ludhiana is allowed but take away and dining would be strictly banned”
He warned that the takeaway and dining facility would be strictly banned at these places. He clarified that these persons would not require any special permission from the District Administration. But they would have to strictly comply with the guidelines issued by the Punjab government.
Pradeep Kumar Agrawal informed that these business establishments would have to ensure proper hygiene standards at their workplace. The restaurants will have to record the temperature of all employees coming to the restaurant on a daily basis. And also have to maintain a record of that.
“A face mask is mandatory with other strict guidelines to be safe”
For all employees frequent cleaning/disinfection of work surfaces and touchpoints such as door handles. A face mask is mandatory and must be changed every day.
They would have to maintain social distancing while at work, frequent hand washing and use of hand sanitizers to be practiced.
“Major guidelines to be followed during home delivery”
He said that the guidelines to be followed during home delivery of food are:
- The deliverable food item should be packed hygienically.
- Delivery/transport vehicles shall be cleaned and sanitized regularly
- Zero contact delivery while delivering food to the guest
- Contact with common touchpoints such as doorbell should be avoided
- Face mask/gloves are mandatory for all delivery workers
Pradeep Kumar Agrawal stated that all concerned would have to follow the COVID 19 Management guidelines. Those are issued by Punjab Government from time to time.
“Strict action against violators”
Anyone found violating the COVID-19 guidelines will be liable for strict action. These actions will be under the provision of the Disaster Management Act 2005 and the Indian Penal Code 1860.
He further stated that a total of 3818 samples have been taken in the district till date. out of which 125 samples from district Ludhiana and 20 from other districts have been found positive for COVID 19.
He informed that only one positive case has been reported of a Ludhiana resident today. Who had gone to district Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, where he was tested for COVID 19. And now his sample has come out positive today. He has been put in isolation at Civil Hospital Ludhiana.
He informed that a total of 10 patients (including two today) have been declared cured to date and at present, there are 110 active cases in the district now.
