On Tuesday, it was heavily reported that Ranbir Kapoor had contracted Covid-19. His uncle, veteran actor Randhir Kapoor had told Bollywood Hungama, “I believe he is not well, but I am not sure what he has got. I am not in town.”
However, soon after, his mother, actress Neetu Kapoor took to Instagram to confirm the news reports. Sharing Ranbir’s picture she wrote, “Thank you for your concern and your good wishes. Ranbir has tested positive for Covid-19. He is on medication and recovering well. He is in self-quarantine at home and following all precautions.”
Meanwhile, Alia and Ranbir, who have been reportedly dating for three years will be seen together on-screen for the first time in Brahmastra. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, who also directed Ranbir in Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewaani, Brahmastra is a three-part fantasy epic. It also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy.
Alia will also be seen in Gangubai Kathiawadi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. According to various reports, Bhansali has also tested positive for Covid-19. It is a biopic of Ganga Harjivandas, an influential figure in Mumbai’s Kamathipura who had links to the underworld. Gangubai Kathiawadi will release on July 31, 2021, in theaters.
