
- A Major Relief for Disaster-Affected Area in Chamoli District— Initiative Appreciated by District Administration
Chamoli, Uttarakhand: A one-day Free Health Camp was successfully organized in the border region of Nandnagar, Chamoli district, by Junoon Charitable Trust, Delhi. More than 1,500 residents from nearby remote villages availed themselves of free medical consultations and health check-ups during the camp.

District Officials and Local Leaders Praised the Initiative
The camp was inaugurated by Bhupal Ram Tamta, the local MLA, while District Panchayat Chairperson Daulat Bisht was also present. He stated that organizing such a health camp in the disaster-affected Nandnagar area is a meaningful and compassionate step toward community relief and rehabilitation.
District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar and Superintendent of Police Surjit Panwar also visited the venue and appreciated the efforts of Junoon Charitable Trust.

They remarked that such social initiatives play an inspiring role for the administration and help extend quality healthcare services to remote and border areas like Nandnagar.
28 Specialist Doctors Conducted Free Medical Tests
A team of 28 specialist doctors from reputed hospitals participated in the camp, offering consultations in pediatrics, cardiology, orthopedics, dentistry, gynecology, and other disciplines.

Patients received free tests, including ECG, liver function, blood sugar, bone density, and blood pressure checks.
25 Years of Continuous Service by Junoon Charitable Trust
According to the camp coordinator Dr. Girish Vaishnav, Junoon Charitable Trust has been organizing similar medical camps across Chamoli district for the past 25 years, serving nearly 2,000 people annually.
Dr. Vaishnav highlighted that even in hilly regions, lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and fatty liver are increasing rapidly — a growing concern that requires regular health check-ups and awareness programs. He emphasized that such free health camps are proving to be a lifeline for people in these remote areas.
Local Community Expressed Gratitude
Residents of Nandnagar and nearby villages expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying that having specialist doctors from Delhi and Dehradun visit their region was a great relief.

They added that such free medical initiatives are proving to be a boon for rural and disaster-affected communitieswho have limited access to regular healthcare facilities.
Dignitaries Present at the Event
Among those present were Block Pramukh Hima Devi, Dr. Saurabh Vaishnav, Kripal Bisht, Rakesh Dimri, former Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Himani Vaishnav, and SDM R.K. Pandey, along with several other officials, volunteers, and local citizens.
