All nation was waiting for PM Narender Modi at 10:00 am on Tuesday morning. And all were stick to their TV screen to know about PM decision on on-going lock-down in all over India.

And in his address to the nation on Tuesday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that based on the suggestions of the state governments and all the experts the nationwide lock-down has been extended till May 3.

In his address to the nation Narender Modi added that till April 20 all districts, localities, states will be closely monitored, as to how strictly they are implementing norms.

“All states which will not let hotspots increase, they could be allowed to let some important activities resume, but with certain conditions,” he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended the nationwide lock-down on Tuesday, highlighting that India was moving in the right direction in its fight against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

  1. How long will this lockdown will continue?

    In simple words, India will be under a lockdown for a total of 40 days.
    All have to be in lockdown again till may 3. As The nationwide restrictions to stop the spread of Covid-19 have been extended till May 3.
    Current three-week lockdown imposed on March 24 was set to end on April 14 (today).

  2. Is there any relaxation any where?

    Not till April 20. In fact, according to the Prime Minister, authorities will keep a close watch on how strictly the lockdown guidelines are followed at the local level over the next seven days.

  3. What will happen after 20th April?

    After 20th April, places that score satisfactorily in the assessment test are expected to get some breather with authorities allowing limited activities.
    But such a move will come into place only after officials are satisfied. And the area concerned has eliminated the threat of Covid-19 to a large extent.

  4. What if any COVID-19 case surface in relaxed area?

    If a case surfaces or resurfaces, the relaxations will be rolled back. All possible relaxations are conditional.

  5. What do we know about the relaxations?

    Not much immediately. A detailed guideline will be issued on Wednesday.
    But the Prime Minister, in his address, said steps will be taken to help the poor, especially daily wage workers whose livelihood has been severely hit.

  6. What about essential services?

    They are likely to continue the way they are functioning right now. Front line workers, such as health care staff and police, among others, are exempt.

Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus cases in India crossed the 10,000 mark on Tuesday to 10,363 including 8,988 active cases, 1,035 cured and 339 deaths
