Jammu & Kashmir: Gunfire which took place near Line of Control in Keran sector in the border district of Kupwara district of Jammu & Kashmir took the lives of five militants and 3 soldiers.
As quoted by the defense spokesperson in Srinagar, the army had launched an anti-infiltration operation in Kupwara district despite the unpleasantly wet weather and antagonistic territory. The spokesperson further mentioned that the militants were taking advantage of the cold weather and were attempting to infiltrate this side of LoC.

While the operation injured a few soldiers, even during the inclement weather, the soldiers injured were later evacuated but, however, they capitulated to their injuries and lost their lives.
Evacuating the injured was interrupted due to the rough terrains conditions and heavy snow. The spokesperson added that the operation is not over yet and is still in progress.
The army has been conducting the operation in the region for last 3 days. Also, a huge troop is involved in the search operation.
