The number of positive cases of Coronavirus is increasing rapidly each day. Globally, the virus has infected more than 168,000 people. The World Health Organization has declared it a pandemic and the world is in a health crisis.
Let us explain to you why there is a need for “Need for social distancing” or self-isolation and self- quarantine.
Coronavirus is a disease that gets transmitted from person to person. Not by the means of air, but the virus can stay on surfaces for a particular period of time.
The medical experts all around the world are still working to find out a permanent cure for Coronavirus. Also, if found, the distribution of the vaccine to the masses at a cheap price would be difficult until the end of 2020.
The idea is simple. There is a “need for social distancing” required to stop disease transmission as much as possible.
So, in order to slow down the rapid pace of the spread of the virus, there is a serious need for self-isolation. It is not about curing the patients but to slow down the rate at which people are getting sick. If the disease continues to spread rapidly, then the burden would be on the healthcare systems. If that happens, the hospitals would be filled up COVID 19 patients. Also, the patients would be prioritized on the basis of the disease. This can lead to mass deaths.
Actually, the virus is a call for everyone to now acts responsibly to resist the spread.
Closing of schools, colleges, public places is a way to increase social distancing. Also, working from home is the option for the employees. Obviously, there are some professions like police and defense staff that do not have this option. But proper hygiene and precautionary measures need to be taken.
